I read something quite interesting today. It was a list of all the things that one wishes was not replaced by technology. Here is my list:
1. Face to Face: how many of us has really wished the person was in front of us to see their emotions? I wish for this especially when there is an argument with a friend. If only you could see the expressions in person, so many fights could be avoided.
2.Camera reels: how can you forget the magic of seeing the memories in your hands. Advocates of digital cameras may not agree with me. But there was something in getting your reels developed and lovingly seeing them in your album, in your hand and not on a screen.
3.Recipie books: hand me down recipie books were more specials, then these applications.
4.Grocery shopping: I enjoy it. Standing in the aile , reading the ingredients before buying something new. But working professionals might argue that there is not enough time to go for grocery shopping. It is best done online and to have it delivered at your doorstep. I think not. I still believe if you are organized you do save time. I wish this was still the same.
5.Reading: And in this I mean both newspaper and books. Book lovers will agree that reading a paperback is more satisfactory then on a tablet. How can you not miss the newspaper reading on the table with morning tea!
The list can go on and on. The truth is, technology has made life easy but it has robbed some pleasures as well.
